Wikileaks. Too Much To Compromise?

Hilary Clinton, Secretary of State, announced on 1st December (2010) that Wikileaks recent documents published online were "an attack on the international community, the alliances and partnerships, the conventions and negotiations that safeguard global security and advance economic prosperity".

I believe that though the public of a country requires knowing certain aspects of their government’s projects and planning, they also have the right to keep confidential investigations, communications and strategies private and quite. The issue of Wikileaks in recent news has compelled countries to justify for the unknown truth, which can create conflict if the subject is not defended in white light.

The issue is becoming more and more risky for government officials, security institutions and most importantly the ordinary civilians as the information is piped through the highly accessible Internet worldwide. This puts Secret Intelligence and the military abroad at immense danger as their planning and strategies can be intersected at a very early age in time.
As the purpose of Wikileaks progresses, ordinary civilians who played little to the world politics would begin doubting their own government, institutions and people creating an opportunity for non-violent cival war within the country. It will take great effort for the government to keep the trust of their people as Wikileaks puts all countries on their toes for their private communications.
I though, still believe that the war on Iraq and Afghanistan need to be acknowledged for every individual, as it has created turmoil as tangents around the globe. I therefore write with an opinion that Wikileaks initial publishes were a great record put in public however the recent claims create doubts which can hurt the international community slowly.

Globalization... What is it?

Globalization is the network created between countries around the globe through trade, communication and transportation. Globalization as a result allows wider range of ideas, interaction and knowledge for other traditions, culture and system of economics to the wider community. The process has increased over recent years due to the need for specialization in resources, peace between countries and expand the knowledge for other beings and their ethics.

I believe that Globalization plays a vital role in our lives today as it tries to implement equality amongst all cultures and diminish the discrimination or negative thought to any religion. Nevertheless, globalization is only possible between countries that are willing to accept and widen their interactions with (maybe) a new school of thought. It brings great advantage to a country too as it can depend on aid or support from the international globalized community in any situation. There might be barriers from countries such as not accepting the process but they would not see the advantage unless minds open up to a new light and analyze, if globalization does actually afflict their culture.

A difference between the two?

To begin with, the real meaning of ‘Communism’ has changed from its original historic definition given my Karl Marx. In today’s language, communism can be thought as a “one party operating under centrally planned economies” which is different from Marx’s theory of a “classless society structured upon common ownership.” I believe that this transition occurred as in Marx’s time, the working class wanted to implement one market where the means of production were common amongst all owners; however this is different today due to the sudden rise in power of one individual who “is the main producer of wealth in society.” This rise in power of one individual is, what I believe, communism today. The individual may say that their society is a ‘transitional socialist system’ however it is evident today that one individual controls the actions of their country. In addition, I believe that communism will not stand too long for a country, like Soviet Union, as it can be associated as a self-sufficient country with certain loose end such as trade.
Socialism, nevertheless only differs minutely to communism as in Marxist theory, socialism “is just a transitional stage on the way to communism.” Looking back in history, socialism happened due to a ‘political movement’ where the industrial capitalism hypothetically wanted to achieve a form of society. Socialism works towards freedom for the individual which can lead to communism for the country as a result.

The Korean's Clash

South Korea suffered 2 casualties while 19 were injured on November 23rd 2010 due to the firing of artilleries from the North Korean side close to the disputed maritime border. What is now said as the “worst clash since the Korean War”, the event has lead to global leaders seeking peace before the water spills out. The firing began when South Korean military had been carrying out an exercise and were accused of breaking the hostilities with the North near the Yeonpyeong island.

Countries such as The United States, China and Japan have already acted towards the issue due to the threat that involves in domestic peace. China is an ally to North Korea however the foreign minister highlights that it would be better if both countries “do more to contribute to peace.” North and South Korea should therefore understand that support from the international community is minimum and precision is made towards peace and negotiations in existing disputes.

I believe that North and South Korea cannot encounter a war with each other as they lack the stability or popularity of the government, international support and more importantly the resources to fight one. I strongly hope that China, The Russian Federation and The United States alongside the help of The UN Security Counsel can resolve this issue to best mutual agreements between the two sides.

The AIC Simulation

The AIC (Arab-Israeli Conflict) Simulation is an online model of the peace talks between the two important disputed countries, Israel and Palestine, and countries that take role to make a negotiation that benefits both sides. The Arab-Israeli Conflict Simulation includes countries as big as The Unites States of America to the small political group namely Israel Lukid Coalition.

I am Ahmed Aboul Gheit, the Foreign Minister of Egypt who deals with other Foreign Ministers or delegates to discuss the ideas and negotiations of my presidents on his behalf. In a formal way of communication, I reflect on the ideas that Egypt desires on issues to the International community with reasoning and cause of such thought or action. As for Egypt, I hope to keep stability throughout the Arab world with the fact that Egypt approaches its foreign relations with peaceful goals.

I hope that the Simulation works for the best interest of the two disputed territories. In perspective to Egypt (being an Arab country), I would hope that the Arabs in these territories are given the life away from war and conflict, and additionally, I do hope that the solution that omits in the end is satisfactory and agreeable without any doubt or reason for the two governing delegates. On the other hand, being put in the shoes of Ahmed Abould Gheit, I hope that I can act as wisely and create situations that he would in a scenario that other countries persuade or invite Egypt to take part of. It is therefore that the simulation cannot be taken as a student but as if I and my colleagues were thinking on the behalf of the nation we rule and govern.

My Idea Of 'How I Would Fix The World'

If I were to fix the world I would begin by accepting and respecting the belief, traditions and culture of every individual. I think it is important to acknowledge that people are different and would have certain attributes that link to their own history and identity. When accepting, I would have created a neutral latter which would aid me for any times of trouble or need. Expecting the same from the opposite, we would have completely distinguished the current existence of social class, racial elements or more importantly a difference of power. Therefore, my primary objective would be to establish bridges to every sect of community, or group of people that could in result use their expertise towards one another.

I would then establish a system of developing schools and institutions attracting all class of people, especially those who are less able and elderly who are yet able to work but did not achieve any education at all. Public schools would aim to teach the same standard of education for students to qualify for a top ranked university, while institutions would provide a general course for those who wish to learn and earn an income simultaneously. Additionally, I would raise awareness through these branches and set up an organization that would present the human rights for every individual, the equality and power bestowed for the gender and age. Having put this in plan, a domino effect would improve standards of living such as unemployment rate, literacy rate and poverty rate that are seen as issues to be dealt with today.

The Issue Of 'Education'

The most significant issue that political leaders, humanitarian organizations and individuals should attend to is providing education to the youth, those who are able and unable. I believe that promoting the access of education to the youth of both genders who are living in remote areas, refuse to attend for any particular reason or if the family is unable to fund the tuition can germinate a bright future for elements of poverty and human rights. It is important that the government of a country (especially the third world) makes this a priority of establishing public schools or institutions where basic literacy is taught up to secondary level to light a future for the youth of today. Obviously, a strong result may not occur in the short term but ten to fifteen years from now, children who were unable to read, mislead into terrorism or mistreated for gender would have been educated for situations and circumstances that would benefit them in the merit world they live in.
